Agor Red Wine formerly the Kagor dessert wine is a fortified dessert wine made from cabernet sauvignon, saperavi and other grapes on the Black Sea coast of the former Russian Empire, primarily in Moldova and Crimea.
Agor is a truly a special dessert wine, made from selected red grapes mainly prepared from European grape varieties - Cabernet-Sauvignon and Merlot. It has a dark ruby colour, and a rich aroma of cherry and dried fruits. Conversely, the dominant grape variety in French Cahors wine is Malbec.
Asconi was founded in 1994, with about 988 acres of vineyards growing Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscat Ottonel varieties near Geamana village in the Anenii Noi region of Moldova. The picturesque vineyards are situated about 25 miles to the south of Chishinau and 6 miles from the winery. They currently market their products in the Czech Republic, Poland, United States, Russia, Belorussia, Lithuania, Israel, and other countries
